With a heavy heart we share that Joyce Marie Pillar (Steiner, Hime), 83, of Millcreek, gracefully passed away on Thursday, August 28, 2025. She was born on May 3, 1942, in Erie, PA to the late Richard Hime and Lucille Mello.

Joyce attended McDowell High School and graduated from Academy High School, class of 1960. Her passion in high school was singing in the choir and went on to sing in a group with 3 others lovingly named "The Counts." She married the late Robert Steiner and was a stay-at-home mom to their 4 children until she entered the work force as a Medical Transcriptionist. Joyce was a loving, caring and devoted Mom, Grandma, and Great-Grandma who enjoyed every opportunity to be with her family. A few of her interests were listening to music, dancing, tending to her plants, interior decorating, crocheting, and shopping.

Joyce's life motto was, "see you at the window!"

Joyce is survived by three of her children, Bobby Steiner (Marilyn) of London, Ohio and Scott Steiner (Molly) of Erie, PA and Tina Vergotz (John) of Erie, PA.; her siblings Bob Hime (Karen), Tommy Hime, and Linda Heeter (Steve); 10 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 2 on the way, nieces, and nephews.

In addition to Joyce's parents and husband she is preceded in death by her son, Trevor Steiner, her brother Richard Hime (Phyllis) and sister Patty Woodell (Jeff). A private interment will be held at the Erie Cemetery. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
