Vera R. Moore Smith

Erie - Vera R. Moore Smith, 79, of Erie, passed away Friday, November 26, 2021 at St. Vincent Hospital. She was born in Erie, on April 3, 1942, daughter of the late Raymond S. and Ethlyn Krantz Moore.

Vera graduated from Academy High School in 1960. She enjoyed camping with her family, gardening and sewing. Vera was a supporter of her sons' dirt track racing and loved her dog, Daisy.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, William B. Smith; her daughter, Deborah Will; her two sisters, Deanna Merriman and Audrey Beightol; and her daughter-in-law, Marilyn Smith.

Survivors include her two sons, Thomas A. Smith, of Greene Township and Michael Smith and his wife Pamela, of North East; her six grandchildren, Lyda Hoover, Melissa McQueeney, Sara Kennedy, Lynsi Smith, Ashley Smith, and Nicholas Smith; and many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the Russell C. Schmidt & Son Funeral Home, Inc. 5000 Wattsburg Rd. on Wednesday from 4 p.m. until the time of Funeral Service there at 7 p.m. and are invited to graveside prayers the following morning at 10:00 a.m. at Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery.
