Thaddeus E. “Ted Zack” Zukowski Thaddeus E. “Ted Zack” Zukowski, 65, of Erie, died Saturday, June 10, 2006 at St. Mary’s Home after a three-and-a-half year battle with throat and neck cancer. Born May 4th, 1941 in Erie, he was the son of the late Zigmund and Appolonia Dylewski Zukowski.
Ted graduated from Academy High School in 1960, and the DeVry Institute in Chicago. He worked as an electrician for Electric Boat in Groton, Conn., and then as a carpenter here in Erie for the Local 81. Most recently he was a foreman for the City of Erie Department of Public Works, Property, and Parks for 21 years. He also was a member of several local social clubs. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, billiards, woodworking, and golf.
Survivors include his wife, Karen Bentze, whom he married in 1962; a daughter, Theresa Zukowski, of Erie; a son, Patrick Zukowski, of Louisville, Ky.; three grandchildren, Mark, Julia and Holly Zukowski; one great-grandson, Kompton Anthony Zukowski, who was born June 7th, 2006; a brother, Joseph Zukowski, of Erie, and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the A. Brugger & Sons Funeral Home LLP, 845 E. 38th St. at Pine Ave., on Tuesday from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Services will be held there on Wednesday at 8:45 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. John the Baptist Church at 9:30 a.m. Interment will be held in Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery.
