Rosalee Pinkney Lofton, 72, of 237 East 25th Street, passed away after a brief illness on Tuesday, June 21, 2011.
She was born July 14, 1938 in St. Matthews, S.C., daughter of the late Walter and Elise Whren Pinkney.
Rosalee spent the majority of her life in Erie as a homemaker to her five children and husband, Edel Lofton. As a member of Morning Star Baptist Church, she served on the Usher Board and the Willing Workers Club. She enjoyed attending church and singing in the choir as well as bingo, bowling and spending time with her grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Rosalee was preceded in death by her sister, Hattie Graves, and a son Darren Lofton. She leaves to cherish her memory two sons, Bryan (Margay) Pinkney and Daryl (Charmaine) Lofton;a step son, Charles Carter; two daughters, Tonya (Bill) Lofton and Kimberly Lofton; two brothers, James Whren and Ronald Pinkney; two sisters, Rebecca (Henry) Howze and Helen (Jessie) Wheaton; and two goddaughters, Tarsha Lucas and Carlena Mitchell as well as thirteen grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and many other family members, loved ones and friends.
Friends may visit with the family on Friday, June 24th from 5 to 9 p.m. at Morning Star Baptist Church, 327 East 23rd Street, and attend the funeral service on Saturday, June 25th at 11a.m. Interment will take place at Lakeside Cemetery. Funeralization by Law Funeral Home, 2926 Pine Avenue.
