Henry Richard Jensen, 57, 9941 Donation Road, Waterford, died Saturday, Sept. 19, 1998.
He was born in Erie Jan. 26, 1941, son of Henry Jensen and the late Alice Petersen Jensen.
He was a 1960 graduate of Academy High School and a graduate of Gannon University in 1976. He served in the U.S. Army from 1963 to 1965. He was employed for about 24 years at Zurn Industries and for the past 13 years was employed by TM Industries where he was vice president. He was a member of the board of directors of Perry Hi-Way Hose Co., and a member of the Danish Brotherhood, the Cascade Club, the Slovak Club and the Sommerlyst Club. His hobbies were bowling, golfing, hunting, horseshoe pitching and gardening.
Survivors include his wife of 32 years, Barbara Brown Jensen; his father, Henry Jensen and his wife, Joyce, of Erie; three daughters, Mrs. Lynn Halasz and her husband, Michael, Mrs. Alice Dovishaw and her husband, Paul, and Amy Jensen and her fiancee Rod Warren, all of Erie; three grandchildren, Joshua, Nicole and Richard Dovishaw; five sisters, Christine Koehle and her husband, William, of Erie, Linda Landis and her husband, Jeffrey, of Erie, Debbie Sawtelle and her husband, David, of Westminister, Md., Ann Swanson and her husband, Ronald, of Erie, and Louise Jensen of Erie; two brothers, John Jensen and his wife, Chris, and Craig Jensen, all of Erie; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his nephew, Jeffrey R. Landis, Jr.
Friends may call at A. Brugger and Sons Pine Avenue Branch Funeral Home, 845 E. 38th St. today from 7 to 9 p.m., and Tuesday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m., and are invited to attend a service at Glenwood United Methodist Church, 2931 Myrtle St. Wednesday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. William Kemp, pastor, officiating. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
The Jensen-Landis Jr. Memorial Foundation was set up to honor the memory of Rich Jensen and Jeff Landis Jr., who were struck and killed by lightning at Overlake Golf Course in 1998.
