Londa Webb (Kuhrman) (Cooke), 78
Londa Webb passed peacefully after complications from cancer on March 30, 2021 surrounded by her family.
Ms. Webb was born in Erie, Pennsylvania on July 17, 1942 to Earl and Lois Webb. She attended Academy High School in Erie and after graduation went on to study nursing. In 1961, she married William Frederick Kuhrman, with whom she had four children. The Kuhrman family lived all over the world including extended stays in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia as well as Hamburg, Germany and Vienna, Austria. While in Ethiopia, Londa opened her home and heart to three of the children of the Minister of Transportation and Communication, Gaitachew Bekele, whose wife had been tragically murdered a few years prior. Being of similar ages to Londa's own children they fast became part of the family and still are today. When not overseas, they called Falls Church and Vienna, Virginia home. In 1989 Bill and Londa divorced. She met Charles Harvey Cooke in 1997, whom she married in 2001. They moved to Tennessee.
Londa was a wonderful mother and wife, raising four bright and accomplished children. She was very active in the communities where she resided with everything from PTA to International Women's Organizations. She hosted dinner parties for dignitaries and politicians from around the globe. She was a life-long devout Christian worshipping wherever she found a meaningful church home including Methodist, Anglican, Lutheran and non-denominational houses of worship. All those close to Londa during her lifetime knew her to be a giving, caring and compassionate person who would do anything to help if she could. She was an accomplished singer and passed her love of music to all her children, especially her daughters, who are both professional musicians. She received her Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) Associates Degree from Guilford Community College in 1993. Londa loved animals and shared her life with many feathered and furry companions over the years.
