Judith Rettger

Judith (Rettger) Wade Spaeder, age 80, passed away Wednesday March 15, 2023, at Manchester Commons. She was born in Erie, October 11, 1942, a daughter of the late Joseph and Audrey (Klakamp) Rettger.

Judy was a graduate of Academy High School class of 1960 and was a member of St. Julia Church. She was a homemaker as well as a certified Home Health Aide. She had been a member of the St. Vincent Auxiliary, West Ridge Ladies Fire Auxiliary, past president of the Springfield PTO, the Springfield Service Circle, and the Pleasant Ridge Manor Volunteers. She enjoyed gardening, camping, reading, and going to garage sales.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald J. Spaeder and her brother Gerald Rettger, and brothers-in-law, Richard Renwick and Robert Kula.

Survivors include her four children, Susan Tallman (Mark) of McKean, Kathy Wade (Adam) of Mt. Pleasant, PA., Dennis Wade of Springfield and Gary Wade (Brenda) of Springfield, six siblings; Tom Rettger (Terry) of Union City, Diane Rettger of Newton, Mass., Jane Renwick of Waterford, Mary Kula of Waterford, Janet (John) Kovacs of Erie and Barbara English (Richard) of Girard, and sister-in-law Marilyn Rettger of North East, and nine grandchildren; Joe Tallman (Caitlin), Ben Tallman (Carrie), Courtney Burton (Paul), Isaac Goodwin, Faith (Keith) Povlik, Linday Wade, Kasey Wade, Keaton Wade and Zaleigh Wade, four great grandchildren; Ryleigh and Nataleigh Tallman, Audra Burton and Leo Tallman.

A special thank you goes out to all the doctors, nurses and the entire staff for the care our mother received at Manchester Commons during her stay.

Friends are invited to call at Brugger Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1595 West 38th St. Tuesday 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. and are invited to attend services there Wednesday at 9:30 am followed by the funeral mass as St. Julia Church at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
