On Monday, May 10, 2021, John Torry Nash, loving husband and father of four children, passed away at age 79.
John was born on May 31, 1941, in Erie, PA, to William and Lura (Kingsbury) Nash. He attended Saint Peter's Grade School, Cathedral Prep High School, and graduated from Academy High School, class of 1960. He received his Chiropractic Degree from Palmer Chiropractic in Davenport, IA, in 1964. Originally joining his father, he maintained his pioneering Chiropractic practice in Erie for 40 years where he was eventually joined by his son, Trevor, who continues to maintain the practice on Peach Street, just a few steps from William's original office.
On June 14, 1964, he was married to Mary Caryl Smith. They raised two daughters, Kirsten and Elizabeth, and two sons, Torry and Trevor. John was a member of Saint Peter's Cathedral Parish and Lake Shore Country Club. He and his wife retired to Pelican Preserve, Fort Myers, FL, in 2004. He had a passion for golf and seldom missed a day of play. He was known for his love of sports, especially College Basketball (Duke), Johnny Cash, his sense of humor, and for devouring mystery adventure books.
John was preceded in death by his father, mother, and brother Fred. He is survived by his wife Caryl, his four children and their spouses, Kirsten Nash and Paul Robinson, Elizabeth and Mathew Wise, John Torry Nash, Trevor Nash and Alison Scott, and his four grandchildren, Nathan, Casey, Benjamin Wise, and Sophia Nash.
A funeral service was held at Saint John XXIII Church in Fort Myers.
