Bernadette C. (Donikowski) Whaley, 74, of St Petersburg, Fla., passed away on Saturday, August 13, 2016, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Erie, Pa., on March 3, 1942, to the late John Donikowski and Stella Smialek.

Bernadette loved attending her grandson's sporting events and school activities, as well as vacationing with him. She loved going to the beach and collecting beach glass with her friends.

Bernadette is survived by her children, Michelle M. Markievich (Gene) of St. Petersburg, Fla. and John Whaley, Jr. of Dallas, Texas; grandson, Alek Markievich; sisters, Dorothy Thomas and Theresa Heynoski, both of Erie, Pa.; and her many nieces and nephews.
